eating insects

We should  eat insects as part of a  healthy diet
I disagree because if you eat insects they might move around and you could  get sick, they are gross and might get stuck in your teeth.

When you are chewing on the bug it could move on your tongue and it can bite it.

You could get sick by the bugs it could lay eggs in your body and make you throw up

some bugs  have liquid in there body that makes their body watery  they are drinkable  and some are crunchy that makes a yuck sound.
that is why i disagree on eating insects .

cross country practice

Today we practised for cross country.  We did two warm ups before we ran two laps around the field, We did  stretches, first we stretched our legs so we can run far, Then we stretched our arms because you can run far if your arms are moving and are not by your side. If they are by your side  you wont run as far but it does not matter if you come first or last. We ran around the field and the girls went first, the boys went after then Mrs Parker swapped with Mrs Raj. Room ten ran also but they started before us.  We all where tired when we finished and went back to class. I felt tired but I still had fun.

My 3D shape that I made.

On Monday 24 of August Mrs Raj taught us how to measure and make a net to create a 3 dimensional shape.

I made a cuboid.

My cuboid has six faces, twelve edges and eight vertices. I made this lovely 3D box.

Boxes are made to hold or store things, Boxes are used for packaging I am going to put my pens in side my cuboid.

I like learning about 3D shapes and creating them. I will create more shapes.

I learnt that you had to use the tips of your nails, to make the creases sharp. I had fun doing this activity.

kiwi kids news

A pair of Greek architects have built a terrifyingly beautiful house into the side of a cliff, offering an amazing view from a scary height.
Laertis Antonios Ando Vassiliou and Pantelis Kampouropoulos built the cliff house with a roof-top pool (which is actually at ground level) and underground walls which helps keep the house warm in winter and cool in the summer.
There is no doubt that the home is stunning but would you be brave enough to live in the side of a cliff? Check out the pictures below!

week 11 reading

6WALT: identify and use similes and metaphors in writing.
SC: Determine the difference between a simile and a metaphor and write your own.

Drought by Adrienne Frater SJ P3 N2 2010

Answer with full sentences
eg. Who is your teacher in Room 7?
Correct: Mrs Parker is my teacher in Room 7
Wrong: Mrs Parker

This text uses similes and metaphors as part of the figurative language.

A simile is when something is described as being ‘like’ or ‘as’ something which it is not.
eg. I flopped across my desk like a dead fish.
The author is not actually a dead fish, but it helps you to get a picture of the look and feel of a situation.

A metaphor is when something is described in that is actually is something which it is not.
eg. I’m drowning in sweat.
The author is not actually drowning, but it gives you the idea of just how much she is sweating.

  1. Find as many metaphors and similes in the text as you can and list them below.

Metaphors
Similes
I was drowning in sweat
It felt like I was a dead fish swimming in a sea of fire

2. Write your own metaphors and similes to describe how you feel/felt during the basketball lessons. (2 of each)

Metaphor
Simile
It felt like I was flying with the ball
I felt like  a bird flying with the ball
I was looking with my two heads everywhere the ball bounced.
I felt like a two headed monster while trying to bounce the ball and watch where I am going.
